El Magnicidio (Spanish)

El Magnicidio follows the series of supplementary publications to the graphic novel series 1898. It emerges from the investigative work done for the publication of the series, which revolves around the historical events of the Cuban Independence War and the following war between the United States and Spain, which turned the Cuban independence to the hands of the United States' imperialists politics. El Magnicidio focuses on the assault that ended the life of the Spanish Prime Minister Antonio Cánovas del Castillo by Michele Angiolillo, an Italian anarchist. The assault was a direct vengeance accusing the horrible actions that occurred in the Montjuich prison against hundreds of Spanish anarchists. This piece recognizes Cánovas death as the turning point in the Caribbean course of events while presenting the known evidence on Dr. Ramon Emeterio Betances' possible participation in Angiolillo's deed. Tax included. Shipping will be made in approximately 5 to 7 business days.

Editorial El Antillano is a collective composed of writers, researchers, cartoonists and graphic designers that specialize in graphic novels, illustration and stories for kids. Through our writings, we explore our common past, as well as the development of our nationality. Editorial El Antillano’s main objective is to educate; serve as a communicator of our stories and experiences through the application of fun formats that capture the attention of young people, that way we can motivate them to read, research and participate in the reality of our island. The first version of “Tai: el pequeño tayno” was distributed free in public schools in New York in the 70’s. We can imagine what importance this can have nowadays with the current migratory wave. There’s already more Puerto Ricans living outside of Puerto Rico than what we have in the island.
